Rock-180 10"W - 11"H - 7"D ROCK - BASS BAIT
This ( 10"W - 11"H - 7"D ) rock shows you what the first Bass baits looked like, before hooks
were invented. It was also the start of the evolution to Rockbass as a result of a number of
Bass swallowing these rock baits. The Bass pictured here is coming out of a hollow cedar log
and was able to snap the leader and get away. A few more modern baits were lost here as a result of
hooks that seemed to catch everything but the fish.

These were the first Bass baits.
No hook or sinker was needed.
It caught on the fishes teeth.
This was the start of Rockbass.
