This ( 10"W - 11"H - 7"D ) rock shows you what the first Bass baits looked like, before hooks were invented.  It was also the start of the evolution to Rockbass as a result of a number of Bass swallowing these rock baits.  The Bass pictured here is coming out of a hollow cedar log and was able to snap the leader and get away.  A few more modern baits were lost here as a result of hooks that seemed to catch everything but the fish.
The signs read:

ROCK
BASS BAIT


These were the first Bass baits.
No hook or sinker was needed.
It caught on the fishes teeth.
This was the start of Rockbass.
